breakthrough with insurance

Bill had another good day today. He continued to do a lot of sleeping, but talked with us and was less disoriented than previous days. He is getting nutrition through his IV as well as eating some clear foods. He was quite excited about Jell-o and thinks "it is a good money maker, it will make billions."

Bill's brother Tim made multiple calls today, and upon talking to the ENT physician at Spectrum Health, he found out that they would not be able to do a third surgery if it is needed. The physician had only seen one case like this before, and it had sealed up on its own. Then, after a repeat call to an administrator at Priority Health, they agreed to send Bill to University of Michigan if the sinus patch is still leaking. On Monday Bill will get the imaging study (cisternogram) to see if the leak persists. If there has, he will likely be transferred to U of M to see the ENT specialist. (There is still a small chance that he may be transferred to Spectrum Health to have a neurosurgeon do the surgery instead. This would be a much more involved surgery with higher risk, and this is why we have been pursuing an ENT approach.)

So, invest in Jello -- it will make billions.

  6. Dear Gezon Family - You probably don't know me by name (Kandy Suwyn) but you know my face, as we have spent alot of hours at ICU next door to you. Even though my Dad has finally moved out of ICU and is in rehab you are still in our thoughts and prayers. We thank God for the progress Bill is making and pray for great results in his scan tomorrow. We are glad to hear, that if need be, you can go to U of M, but we hope you donn't have to. Nance, I pray for God's guidence, strength, comfort and some good rest for you!! With Christian Love, The Russ Warner Family
