Patch #2

We were informed a few minutes ago that dad will undergo another surgery today around 3pm. The ENT doctors feel confident they have found the leak and source of air and want to patch it endoscopically as soon as possible. They are unsure if this is the same area of the previously failed patch but feel that, according to the CT scans, it is the obvious entrance for the air in his brain.

If this surgery is successful, air will no longer have an ability to enter the drain and they may even be able to extract the remaining air through the drain which they have already put in place a few days ago.

We are thankful they are not suggesting a more drastic surgery at this point and we hope to know if this second patch is successful within a few days.
