pot roast and potatoes

We need to preface this entry with a disclaimer: Without the contributions of an ER doctor (ANDY), this post will be lacking the usual amount of medical detail and terminology. :-)

Since his arrival at U of M, Dad has had a healthy appetite. Today's menu included pot roast, potatoes, and green beans....all quite edible with a sufficient amount of gravy. Dad slept most of the afternoon.

The large amount of air around Dad's brain is still a big concern. The neurosurgery resident stopped by this afternoon to inform us that a procedure (bilateral ventriculostomy....say that 3x fast) has been scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. Two small holes will be drilled into his head and tubes will be inserted to release the air. This particular procedure is performed quite frequently for draining CSF, however, has not been used for releasing air. Please pray that it's effective.

The good news is that none of his doctors have observed any evidence indicating that the leak isn't sealed.

Now that sounds like a good DUTCH diet!!!

We'll be praying for success tomorrow with his ventriculostomy.

  2. We're betting that the Gravy also acted to seal the patch. There MUST be a useful purpose for that stuff. Rest assured that you have our continuing good thoughts and prayers.
